How It Works
Kick-off Call
We discuss your business, your key relationships, and what keeps you up at night. This helps us focus the review on what matters most.
Document Collection
You share your key contracts, terms and conditions, corporate records, website, and employment documentation. We provide a simple checklist.
Structured Review
A senior attorney reviews each area methodically, identifying practical legal risk — not theoretical problems.
Report & Recommendations
You receive a written report with prioritised recommendations, suggested next steps, and a follow-up discussion to walk through the findings.
What You Get
What's Not Included
The health check identifies where you stand. Fixing what needs fixing is a separate engagement — and we will always quote before starting.
Who This Is For
Growing Businesses
You have outgrown your startup documents. Contracts signed three years ago may no longer reflect your current operations, risk profile, or size.
Pre-Investment or Acquisition
You are preparing for funding, a new partner, or an acquisition. Investors and buyers will ask about your legal position — better to know first.
Founders Who Know
You know your legal house is not in order but you do not know where to start. The health check gives you a clear, prioritised starting point.
The Cost of Not Knowing
A health check costs R10,000. A single dispute arising from any of these gaps can cost R100,000 or more — not including the management time, business disruption, and commercial damage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the R10,000 inclusive of VAT?
No. The fee is R10,000 excluding 15% VAT. The total including VAT is R11,500.
How long does the health check take?
Typically 2 to 3 weeks from receipt of your documents to delivery of the final report.
What size business is this for?
SMEs with 5 to 100 employees, typically 2 to 10 years old. Businesses that have grown beyond their startup documentation but do not yet have in-house legal support.
Can you also fix the issues you find?
Yes. Any remediation work — such as redrafting contracts, updating terms and conditions, or amending corporate records — is quoted separately after the report is delivered.
Do you review tax or accounting matters?
No. This is a legal review. We can recommend accounting and tax advisors if the health check identifies areas that require specialist financial input.
Is this a once-off or recurring service?
The standard package is once-off. Annual legal health checks can be arranged on request — particularly useful for growing businesses with evolving legal needs.
Find Out Where Your Business Stands
A legal health check gives you clarity. You will know exactly where you stand — and what to prioritise.
